She's here!

Wow...so we are now home from the hospital! We got home yesterday afternoon after a very long but rewarding weekend!

We went to the hospital Friday night as I was being induced with cirvidil. That is a much slower drug my doc wanted to use just to see if Isabella would drop a little more since we were still not completely sure that she would fit through thay way. By the twelve hour mark I had only dialated from 2 to a whole 3 cm. LOL! 9:30 am on Saturday, they went ahead and hooked me up to pitocin. For those who don't know... that is a drug also used for inducement but a whole lot stronger!!! Over the next half hour I started having an insane amount and very painful contrractions. Everyone was sure I was way advanced into my labor now... well I was still three... now what...? I went ahead and had the epidural so they could increase the pitocin quickly, after making it through some more crazy labor. Well, it only worked on the right side. Brainiac me decides not to say anything right away because I thought to myself, "half the pain has to be better than all of it anyway..." Wrong!!! I just ended up feeling it all on my left side!! On top of all that I started feeling very sick and light headed. Next thing I knew I was spitting up, tilted backward on the bed, oxygen mask on my face, blood pressure plummeting and Isabella's heart rate way in the hole. This happened just as Chris had stepped out to let the family know that the nurses didn't want anymore visitors until after the delivery. So of course, Chris comes back to an insane scene!

We all got through that scary moment!!!Awhile after this, the nurses decided it was once again safe to turn back on my pitocin and continue with this process. Of course...I go straight back into labor without a working epidural. When I just couldn't take it anymore, they came back removed my epidural and I had to go through that process all over again. This time....it worked!!!! Amazingly!!!! I went from 5 cm to 8 in ten minutes and the to ten in just another five to ten minutes! It was crazy...the people in the waiting room couldn't keep up with the updates!! LOL! So after only 7 hours of labor (even with all the crazy happenings) and only about 20 minutes of pushing, we ended up with a beautiful baby girl at 6:49 pm on Saturday, March 7, 2009. She was a whopping 8 lbs 11 oz and 21 inches long! Isabella Marie finally made it into the world!!! Daddy cut the cord and put on her first diaper. They nurses wrapped her all up and Chris got to be the first person to officially hold her after she was all wrapped up ( I held her right when she came out!). The experience was amzing and I would never change it for the world. I am already looking forward to the day that I will feel that amazing feeling again. Right now I am beyond blessed to have such a perfect baby girl..all ten toes and all ten fingers!! Thank you all for your love and support! I was amazed at the amount of people who called, emailed, myspaced, facebooked, and even visited us to send all your kind wishes!! We love you all!!We are home now and all is well. She eats well, sleeps well and just loves her surroundings! ( she has to be looking at everything!)
